I have a 1715 with FEL. I am taking the front bucket off and mounting a truck style snow blade to the FEL arms. I am using the roll part of the lift to operate the angle.

Now to the question. I pulled the hydro hose from the bucket and got a real milky looking fluid (water in it I am sure). I had just changed the fluid and filter in October of last year. Should I have pulled off a hydro hose and drained them also?

Can't see how I got that much water in such a short time.

Thanks

Bill

I wouldn't worry too much about it, most hydraulic systems hold about 10 gallons plus it's never possible to get it all out. If your tractor lives outdoors like mine it's very common for condensation to form especially in the winter the oil looks milky but it's a small percentage. My brother on the other hand has an interesting way of dealing with water in his hydraulic fluid he puts a little seafoam in and claims no damages to tractor my dealer also recommended this, he tells me to keep an eye on the fluid and if it gets very dark you need to change it apparently seafoam is not only good at cleaning engines but transmissions as well. I usually do it right before a change every 300 hours, I just changed my oil this fall and used new Holland's F 200 and right now my oil looks milky too just seems to be the nature of the beast in the northern climates . Take care

Ditto Radium on the fluid, I just wanted to comment on your plan. If you use the curl function for power angle, are you going to pin your quick-attach (or solid mount) to the loader arms? My plow setup is off a pickup, and the plow frame hangs from a chain. I find it useful to be able to tip the qa plate out (forward at the top) to change the angle of attack of the blade on the driveway.
More tip-out (and higher loader arm position) means more down-pressure on hard snow or ice. Lower the loader and the pressure on the cutting edge backs off. Probably not necessary, but handy. I control the power angle with my rear remotes - a little unhandy but I'm used to it. It's set up for the grapple that way so it's a familiar motion.

Before you get to involved try hooking up the hydraulics. A lot of the loader valves have a regen circuit. If your control valve has regen your blade will angle one way but not the other, The only way to get arround this is to remove the 2 single acting cyl and replace them with double acting. I have been through this and it is a PITA,

My first choice would have been to use remotes for the power angle, but my tractor don't have any.

With that said, I plan on running a top link from.the center of the FEL frame to the A-frame on the plow. That will allow me to adjust the angle and put some.down.pressure on the blade.

I already hooked up the cyl to verify they didn't leak everywhere, been sitting awhile, and it angled left and right with no problem.
