remove the blades and measure the bolt hole and give Agri-Supply a call. bjr

or you can remove a blade and take it to your local farm supply... TSC etc. they carry a varity of replacement blades.

Generally all you have to do is match hole size and length (perhaps offset).

And search before you ask your next question which will be... how do i get them off :D :thumbsup:

Oh and welcome to the forums!

ditto that.. also measure the bolt spacings, and this will tell you the lengeth of cut. in some cases different manufacturers use a different blade carrier or stump jumper.. some oval, some bar, some round.

I've seen people get a set of blades that were close but a hair long and trimmed them down equal and had great results..

About your mower;

You should have one or two corresponding holes on top

and directly over the retaining bolts that hold the blades

to the stump jumper.

The retaining bolt is or should be a splined bolt that anchors itself in the

stump jumper using a corresponding set of splines cut into the stump jumper

(like some truck axle studs)

otherwise you could not fasten and tighten the blade to the stump jumper.

ABOUT your stump Jumper,

I cannot determine if the stump jumper is secured to the gearbox stub with an allen bolt-if so you can remove it in one piece and then take the entire thing to an auto repair shop and have them use an air impact wrench to break the nuts loose on the bolts.

Your gearbox appears to be leaking oil and thats not good

There has been many threads on RFM blade removal techniques. A 3/4" or even a 1" pneumatic impact wrench has been the preferred method. Sometimes a ox-acetelyn torch to cut the bolts. It's a pain but we all deal with it when owning a RFM. and be sure to anti seize compound the bolts when reinstalling. the new nuts and bolts. bjr

Once you have them removed from the stump jumper
you will have a better idea about the blades Alanna.

I belive you have one blade that is damaged and the
other is intact.with a square edge.

Once you havethe following information you should be fine;

1. blade length from end to end

2. blade width

3. blade thickness

4. bolt hole diameter

The only othe rissue is whether the blade is hardened.

If tractor supply or menards or farm and fleet are close you
should be able to obtain replacements.

I would see about getting the oil seal replaced before you do any serious brush control and heavy mowing though.

When I have taken blades like those off my rotary mower/shredder, I had to use a BIG socket, and a big air impact wrench. I was able to get the extra-large socket in 3/4" drive from NAPA. The first time, I had to go to my neighbors to use his air tools; he works on big trucks, and has really big impact wrenches. Since then I was able to use my 1/2" impact.

As has already been mentioned, there is a small cover on the deck, near the gearbox on top. Remove that cover, and rotate the the mower bladed till the big nut is visible. Then hit with the big socket on a big impact wrench.

Once the nuts were off, I used a brass drift to tap the bolt/pins out.

While you're at it, look for any brand or model numbers on the mower. I was fortunate, I knew what my mower brand/model was.

Tractor Supply should be able to order the blades.
