How to Fit Befco 150 50" Rotary Tiller on a Quick Hitch?

I bought the Harbor Freight quick hitch after doing some reading on here. I have an old Befco tiller that came with a tractor I bought.

The issue is that the pins are too close together and it will not stay in the quick hitch. I see that one side is missing a bushing, but I still dont think that will be quite enough.

Do they make longer pins I could put on the tiller to make it fit?

Buy a lift arm pin like the one on the left in the pic for the other side of the hitch, and a fist full of washers to get it to the desired width.

What's the toplink connection look like? If the lowers pre-date quick hitch compatibility, I am sure the toplink does too. So you might be wasting your time fooling with the bottom pins if you aren't prepared/capable of making the top work as well

Are these easy to find? Will the longer pin cause any damaging stress or other issues or should it be fine?

Do they make longer pins? Even if I got the longer pin it would still be a bit too narrow.

What is the inside dpread of the quick hitch

What is the measurment, outside to outside, of the flat metal that the lower pins bolt through.

What is the height of the toplink pin on the tiller, in relation to the lower pins?

Does your quick hitch have an adjustable toplink hook?

Some implements are designed where the toplink hook does NOT go where the toplink pin does. Rather it grabs onto that bolt/spacer that is about 3" below your toplink holes.

Is the lower pins spacing the only problem? If the lower pins were the right width, would the toplink hook have anything to grab ahold of?

So it seams you have a 2.5" difference.

You cant make it fit tight....so you need to only gain one inch per side.

New pins with longer threads and stack up washers...just like BCP's picture

I have a Befco that was too narrow also for my Harbor Freight quick hitch. I used the adjustable double nut pins that have no shoulder. Turned the quick hitch adapters in and added washers till I got my width. No problems after a couple years use.
