It's an older model Sears Roebuck Brand Drill Press. It's still working great. I drilled out the holes for my cylinder pins with it.

It's supposed to be a bit warmer this Thursday so I think I'll go then and soak the chuck in some oil for a few days.

I'll also pick some of that PB Blaster up when I go into town soon.

It is actually called a Morse Taper. Stephen Morse being the name of the guy who invented it. (He also invented the twist drill bit, way back in the 1860s. )

A real machinist will laugh if you call it a "Morris" taper.
