My sister has a rinding mower brand name "White". It is an inexpensive mower with a briggs engine and a two blade stamped deck. I would like to take the blades off and sharpen them but I cannot loosen the nut that holds them on. When mowing the blades turn in the same direction I would turn the nut to remove if it is a right hand thread. Before I put a pipe on a breaker bar and stand on it I would like some assurance this is not a left hand thread I am dealing with. Does anyone have knowledge og an opinion? Do you know any tricks or tips? The owners manual says the nuts should be torqued at 100 pounds but does not indicate right or left hand threads.

i don't think you have a left hand thread. if you have a impact wrench is the best way to remove them. just be sure and put something to lock the blade a 2x4 or something.

Mix up a batch of 50/50 acetone and ATF......squirt/soak the nut several times.......I bet it will loosen up for you with either a breaker bar or impact wrench. This mix is better than anything on the market.....it works wonders on rust! Good luck.
