HI: to all, My Andy 600 bush hall lost three of the four bolts that hole the motor that turn the blade, I need the instruction on how to remove the round metal plate that hole the two blades under the bush hall. I have already taken off the castle nut, the first nut that hole up the blade plate. But there appear to be another round nut that hole the plate up also. the nut is round and has z saw grips threads that threads up on the medal motor rod. What type of socket ranch is needed to remove this last round nut. It appear to need to be a 3in long socket, with z saw end to fit in this nut and turn it.

Pictures would be worth a thousand words, but I have never heard of a second nut on the gearbox output shaft, especially a round one, and especially when there is a castle nut and cotter pin used.

I like to see the socket ranch. Do they let you pick your own cheaper. Sorry just had a picture in my mind after I read that.

HI ALL and thanks for the reply++LOI+++OZLEY...Maybe I am looking at it wrong. This round piece I think is a nut, may be it part of the metal bowl/pan that the two bush hall blades are bolted to, the turn round and round, that make the blades move. Question is do this metal bole slide up on the metal threaded rod coming down from the bush hall motor, or does this metal bowl screws up on the metal threaded rod coming down from the motor. Because this bolt appear to have threads, and could it be part of the metal bowl, and the whole metal bowl screws up around the motor rod.

No the "bowl" is called a stump jumper or blade carrier. And no it's not threaded. It is either a tapered shaft with key, or tapered splines. They are a bear to get off.

Thanks for the Reply: LD1....You hit it right: This bowl does do both, act as a stump jumper and the blade carrier. And both may have never been taken off since coming from the factory. And besides the castle nut this round piece is a bolt or a part of the /stump jumper/blade carrier inter/center piece that hold up and lock on the stump jumper/blade carrier. The question is do this piece screws out/off or is it part of the stump jumper and you will need to turn the entire stump jumper to get it off the bush hog motor threaded metal rod coming down. What is the different between a tapered shaft with key and a tapered splines. It appear I need a long 4" socket to get pass the extended bush hog threaded metal rod to reach this stump jumper center piece. And this socket will nee to have (hand saw like teeth/outer end of socket) to slip in this center piece to turn it or turn the entire stump jumper to get off the bush hog motor metal threaded rod.

Stump jumper dont need turned. You have done all you need to except beat, pry, pull the thing off. They are a bear.

Heres a good start Google

Good luck getting the jumper off...
Like LD1 stated they are a bear...
I've worked last year on getting one off a 10' Howse...
Heat, beat, banged, even made a puller...
Since I've got to replace the gearbox I'm gonna cut the darn thing off this fall...
Too hot to work on it now...
