Flail Mower How to measure flail mower blades

I just purchaced a Lawn Genie mower and have to replace 5 missing blades. What is the proper way to measure the length of the blades. Do you stand the blade up verticle and measure the height or do you measure the actual length of the blade. Also if you have a 3" long blade do you have to specify where the bend is.

I match my blades to the dimensions shown in the supplier's catalog. Also look for consistency in cross-over brand/model notes. I have a Land Pride mower, which is not directly listed by aftermarket suppliers but dimensionally similar to certain Vrisimo blades based on catalog drawings.

Lawn Genie was manufactured by MATHEWS COMPANY out of Crystal Lake, IL 815-459-2210. mathewscompany.com Blades are available from them via a local dealer. Check their website for your nearest dealer. Part # for the blade is 131 4465. The new blades have a square shape compared to the original which were tapered. They suggest replacing in pairs and opposite sides. An online manual is available for your model under their resource heading.
