And the best part, this is tractor related, but, it's more fun everyone guessing until the end, so.....
We had to attend a wedding in Collins, Ill last weekend; wife was done teaching for the year and I had some time, so I said, "let's make a vacation of it while we have the chance."
Saint Louis is right over the river, so I said "would you like to see Clydesdale Horses?" yep, AnheiserBusch tour - we were both pleased with the entire tour. Of course, we also had to tour the Arch, which I enjoyed, but despised the sunburn waiting for an hour in line to pass security [who's going to highjack the Arch?!!!]
Next day off too General/President Grant's house and Grant's farm. Expecting war stories instead of love stories [this site was originally owned by his FIL], the former was a bit mushy for me, but the guide was so enthusiastic it was neat anyway. The latter was actually fun and the wife loved it [and more horses].
Then I said, "Nashville is a short day's drive," so we seen the Grand Ole Opry.
Then...."the Smokey Mountains aren't very far from Nashville"....we skipped the tourist traps in Pigeon Forge, but thorougly enjoyed a guided horseback tour in the Smokeys [though we really had to search to find a ride the went anywhere besides well groomed trails going barely up the mountains]. Also some neat sights in Cade's Cove.
Then..... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gifdrum-roll please.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I said we're not too far from Tazewell Virginia. Home of Power-Trac!! It will still be a little time yet before I can justify this type of machine, but when my wife seen their showroom, it was her instead of me that "was like a kid in a candy store." I'm planning to elaborate in the PT section, but I was well pleased with both the people and the product. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
