How to remove 60\" MMM on JD 4110

My 4110 was delivered this weekend and I was a little disappointed that the MMM could not be locked in the up position while I used my 3PH (my fault for not checking this further - thought it would be like the 2210). I did remove the MMM but it was difficult and it looked like it should have been easy. Is there a trick to it? Any place I can look to get step-by-step instructions?

Also the MMM is the only thing that did not come with a manual - is this normal?

Re: How to remove 60\" MMM on JD 4110

JD sells a lock-up kit for the 3PH. Consists of a couple lengths of chain, turnbuckles, pins, etc. My dealer charged me around $70.00. Should be standard equipment IMO...

You adjust it for the operating range you desire for your MMM and when you want to lock the deck up, you just run the adjuster turnbuckles all the way up.

And yes, your MMM should have come with a manual.

Re: How to remove 60\" MMM on JD 4110

Had my 4110 for about six months and have had the 60"MMM deck on/off several times. It gets easier the more you do it. The best way so far is with the FEL attached, just raise up the front of the tractor off the ground and out she rolls. Next best (w/o FEL) seems to be on concrete. Seems I can turn my front wheels just a wee bit more then on asphalt and the MMM comes out easier. Someone posted an iead of having the front "ear holes" on the front mounting bracket of the deck cut off since they are used for the 4115 ( 4110 used the ones closet to the deck). Would probably give a few more inches of clearance which would sure help.

I did not get a manual at delivery. I specificaly had to ask my dealer to give me one, which he did.

Good luck,

DGB

That would be excellent, but I think its a faily large order to cut them (that's some thick metal). It would DEFINITELY make the task easier...
