set cut of height dial to "install", rotate wheels
to sideways position, lower deck onto deck wheels

release front draft assembly from tractor frame
and remove from deck

unhook pto shaft from transmission by sliding
locking collar and pulling shaft off mid pto

slide deck rearward to move deck off lift
arms "crotches"

use tractor lift lever to raise the lift arms out
of the way

slide deck out from under tractor

easy as pie
:D

Good rundown Dutch. Just would add that it rolls out on the wheels, so don't have to slide it. :)

the really only hard part is re-connecting the pto shaft,
that is a long reach, and sliding the collar back while
pushing the shaft onto the pto can be cumbersome.

but you will get the hang of it after a few times.

:D

oh, and welcome to TBN, feel free to add some
profile info so we know where you are at, what you
are playin (workin) with etc.

well, so far so good.. but.. not far enough...i can't find the '' sliding locking collar''...it eludes me...is the collar near the gear box on the mowing bed, or on the power transmission...??
is it best reached from the right o r left side? do i slide it toward the front or the back??
sorry to bother you again, but i need your help..

i reach in from the left side of the tractor, where the
pto shaft connects to the output shaft on
the transmission, there is a universal joint, then
the coupler. the coupler has an outer collar that will slide
back from the pto (towards the front of the tractor) and
that will allow the rest of the shaft to slide off the pto.
if it hasn't been off in a while, it could be a little stuck.
sometimes a light tap on that collar might help it start
to slide, best maybe to get under with a light and look
straight up at it if you can get the tractor up on a block
safely

HAH................ GOT IT OFF!!!!

the video doesn't show the gear box coming off with the lawn mower deck.... my son-in-law came over and we figured out that we had to pull two pins on it to get it to release so's it could slide to the rear...took us a while, but we got it..working in 83 temp.. sweat like a stuck hog.. but the removal brought a grin to this 71 year old man..
again, thank you... might need ya for the reinstalling of it.. but at least i can eyeball it .
had to jack up the front end, tho...the gearbox on the mower deck wouldn't clear it out of the right side...
gotta go clean the deck.. again, thanks, dutch!!

Puzzled by your mention of pulling two pins. :confused3:

The lift arms have slots that the lift pins on the deck slide into. Are these the two pins you removed (on with lock nuts). ?

Glad you managed to get it removed. Install and removal will get easier as you go.
