Can a bias tractor tire 18.4 x 38 be repaired with a complete tire liner (Boot) to repair severely cracked side walls? Lugs are in real good shape yet. Any idea how much it would cost, if at all possible. Any idea where to get such a liner?
Thanks.

I don't know about a liner but try a heavy duty tube if it doesn't have one in it already.

Based on the size of the tire, I'm going to guess it's got some good weight to hold up. A tube may solve the problem of holding air, but if the sidewalls are as severely damaged as you imply, you may be better off with a new tire. Tires do a lot more than hold air...;)

Is it leaking thru the sidewalls?

The tube is not leaking yet. There is a very limited amount of fluid in the tires. Mostly air. The tube is sticking out a little.

Yeah, that is a problem. It sounds as if many of the sidewall cords are broken. A full liner will extend the life some but Im not sure long enuf to be worth it. Thats an unusual failure. Any idea how it happened? Maybe very old tires with severe infrequent use but stored in the sun and always underinflated.:D

I own two tractors and try to pinch nickels, but finally had to buy some new tires. Try Nebraska tire. They have some blems at a dcent price and worked with me on shipping a goup of tire on a pallet for shipping charges that was okay. bjr

I have the answer to you'r cracked tire problem, like you I have a grey market Yanmar tractor and a new tire is out of sight so I searched for a boot but found a complete tire liner and it worked so well that I'am ordering another. The liner cost approx $40.00 and I got it on line from Gemplers.Good luck,

I recently fixed my Yanmar 1,000 tractor tire but I don't know if I need to add calcium to the tire or not. If not calcium, what do I use and how do I fill it?
Thank-you
