how to stop trannie creep on a jd 316

hello,i have a model 316 l&g tractor and i have very bad trannie creep. i do NOT have any idea how to adjust it.if you could tell me how to stop the trannie creep,that would be great! thanks for all your support,alf7900 :cool2:

Alf,
This is a common issue on the older 300 series JD garden tractors.
Take a look on this forum

Do a search on "creep" and you find many posts, some of which are relatively easy.
(I had a nice thread saved on the topic but can't find it at the moment)

Well the best way i would do it is you will have to take the rear fender/ seat off the tractor and then on the right side you will see the turn buckle for the hydro you can loosen the nuts and adjust it that should work

Your best bet is to put the rear of the tractor up on jack stands so you can do this without the tractor moving or going out of control.


Also be careful of the drive shaft and dont wear long sleeves or jewelry around rotating parts.
