I wonder if its a cell phone symptom. Harder to paw thru all the replies while driving and talking to your passengers, navigating, and listening to The Game.

On other forums, there is a Plus or Minus selector to float the reply upward for helpful hints or downward for the rest. The current count as green or red (for + or - scoring) Interesting that it's the WHO's that get top billing (the user_ids), not the number of lines or photos, just the words for a fix, price, brand, attachment, or all the other topics. These 'Subject Matter Experts' are the real backbone of those sites.

Find an interesting topic. Read and comment.
I know - Stupidly obvious. I know but so many people miss it. They find the topic of interest read the first post and hit reply which posts on page 7 or 27. Without ever reading the 7 or 27 pages of information and opinions. The result is not so good. It's okay in a daily joke thread but not so good in an on going discussion. Kinda like approaching a group of farmers gathered in front of the hardware store and saying I heard it's gonna rain. Pretty sure they all just look at you like your momma dropped you on your head. If you want to add a comment be a good listener first, read the discussion.

You can see how many replies have been posted in a thread before you wade into it. If a thread already has 900+ replies may be a good idea to know that up front?

Why read all the comments when I know I have the only correct answer or opinion?

I believe they are still waiting for the OP to come back and tell what he found out. In English class they called that a "cliffhanger."
