How wide a snowblower for a Grand L3130/3430 or 3240/3540?

I know it is the middle of the summer - hardly a time to ask about snowblowers.

I have a L3400 right now and a 68" Meteor snowblower. I'd say that the blower is about 6 to 8" wider than my tractor with industrial tires.

I have a dealer pricing out an upgrade to one of the Grand L and I wanted to know if my blower would still be able to just cover the width of my tracks.

How wide a blower are you running on your machines?

The Kubota front mount blower for the 4 machines you're looking at is 62" wide, 27" tall and has a 24" fan. So based on what Kubota is recommending it sounds like your 68" blower would be fine. If you don't mind me asking, why are you upgrading from a L3400 to a Grand L? (just curious).

I have a L3430 with the Kubota 2185 front mounted blower. It's a bit wider than the 2174 recommended but it worked just fine last winter even in the last storm we had with lots of wet heavy snow. If you end up with a new blower it's something to consider.

As it turns out I'm not going to be going for a Grand L after all. The dealer did a pretty good price on the Grand L but I'd get too beat up on my trade.

Honestly I have no really good reason to even consider going from the L3400 to the Grand L. I was just thinking that if I were to step back in time and do it again, what would I do.. I realised that I probably would not mind spending more money upfront to get some of the extras - not that I know whether or not I would ever need them nor can I justify them

As it sits I will have my L3400 for the forseeable future. If I come into some money I'll get the tires loaded, remotes installed, hydraulic toplink - all things I don't NEED but would LIKE

Good to know that the blower will work fine for the next time I have this idea

How do you like your Meteor blower? I presently have a 48" Lucknow that I have had good service with. However, I am considering a B3030HSDC so will need a wider blower if I go with the tractor purchase. The other thougt is to put "wings" on the side of my 48" blower to widen the intake out to 60" (6" on each side). Would this work and allow me to avoid spending the extra dollars on a new blower?

I'm quite happy with the Meteor blower. Lots of people use them up here. I have no idea how "wings" would work.

I have a 74" Loftness behind my Kubota L3430. I went with the 74" to make sure it covered the width of the tractor-72" with big turf tires. Was a little concerned about it being to big, but no problems; plenty of horse power.
