No thanks!!! Holy cow that's a lot of rain in a short time. The damages here would be huge.

This May 30 will be the 54h anniversary of a 10 inch in one hour rainfall at Buffalo Gap, a hamlet 5 or 6 miles to the west and up the valley from the town of Big Beaver that was located in the same valley a half mile north of our farm. I remember riding out to the top of the valley on my bike after the storm only to see the whole valley covered in water. It was an amazing sight for a 9 yo who had never seen a body of water bigger than a small pond before. Fortunately the town was situated slightly higher than the water reached.

D7E, 17 inches of rain would be very close to the average annual rainfall for my province.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the record 18" of rain we got in 6 hours in Jefferson LA.
During this record setting 2 day rainstorm some areas got as much as 28" in 40 hours.
Luckily, we lived on some of the highest ground in the area and had no flooding.

Remember this well. I was a teen living in a suburb of New Orleans, Metairie. We had some water come in thru weep holes in the brick, but not bad. It was definitely a weird occurrence.

One inch of rainfall is more than 27,000 gallons of water per acre. It's hard to imagine 18" of rainfall.

We went through this back in 2007. A rancher friend stood on his hill and watched over 100 of his herd drown.....we were without power for 5 days. The timber industry lost millions of trees. I spent 5 days doing nothing but clearing trees from local roads. Amazing storm.......

Look at all the damage that just 14 inches of rain in a month has done to Texas.
We've had 11 inches of rain here this month with no flooding at all.
