What if someone wanted to remove rim guard from their rear 15x19.5 tires? How would you go about it?

Since it is beat pulp and biodegradable I would take the tire out on the back forty and break it down. May I ask why you are removing it?

Well............ The yard don't like the new heavier tractor. Leaving ruts.(T1510) I have R-4's. I tried empty turf tires, but the hill I live on was quite a ride. So.... I thought of draining my tires for cutting season, and adding wheel weights, with my blower for snow season. I have 310 lbs of fluid in each. my thoughts were 620 lbs less might equal less ruts? I'm just kicking around ideas for now.....

Not sure how they do it, but I understand the rim guard can be pumped out.

I empty mine by running over something and putting a good size whole in the tire!

Loaded turfs would probably be a good all around tire for you, that's what I use.

Still gotta wait for a little 'drying time' before mowing though.

I put chains on my loaded turf tires for winter use..........works extremely well on my steep paved driveway in icy conditions.

EDIT: If I was to drain the R4's............I would catch the rimguard as best I could, and transfer to the turfs.

Wear disposable clothing, cause rimguard is rank. Start with valve at top, tractor jacked up and release the air...........then spin tire valve to bottom and drain as much as possible. Then remove tire from the rim(catching all rimguard).........wash and dry tire and rim completely, and reassemble

If the tires are tubeless, install a second valve stem. Air pressure in one and liquid out the other.

I'd pump it out, same as I pumped it in.
Save if to a barrel and your done.

You could use air pressure to force it out down to valve core height then use one of the pumps designed for removing oil from the crankcase via the dipstick tube to evacuate the rest. The suction tube on those are about a 1/4" and will fit thru the valve stem when you take out the top half. That should get you down to just a few ounces. You should be ok to leave the small amount remaining.
Of course just removing as much as will come out of the tire by allowing it to go partially flat without jackstands when the valve stem is directly on the bottom will get most of it out and then just air it back up. The remaining will be a very small amount of weigh and shouldnt be a problem with it moving around in the tire. Just dont let it go down so far as to break the rim seal.

What I have done is elevate the tire and attach a small hose to the stem and let it come out by gravity. That way you can save it, it takes a while and you don't get it all.
