I have a JD1025r with an added rear SCV that controls the hydraulic deck lift with one 1/2" male coupler. The problem is when I attach the snow blower with the hydraulic chute turn and disconnect the deck lift, I have a hose and connector flopping around. I do not want to remove the hose as it's threaded up/over/around from the right to left side of the tractor.

My ideal solution would be to have a "blank" (no mechanism to depress the check ball but it does have the lock collar) spare female adapter mounted that the deck lift male adapter would slip in. A "real" female adapter would not be good as oil could leak and the system would be open to the elements.

What's the best method to restrain the loose hose/connector? I have no idea what types of options are available and I'm just trying to avoid either ripping the lift hose off or dragging it in the crud this winter. I've tried googling several things but coming up empty.

Thank you,

Can you screw on a plug or cap to the real female adaptor?

I was thinking about that too, and was as close as I could come. I was hoping I was overlooking another obvious solution, perhaps not.

I would put a dust cap on it and make a bracket or use a broom holder, to hold it out of harms way.

Good idea.

Here's how I attacked it...

A little background for those not familiar with the auxiliary rear outlets installed when I purchased the tractor. One on-board hydraulic line is dedicated to the MMM one way lift cylinder . A valve mounted to the ROPS to the right of the operators seat controls the flow to the outlets are mounted to the ROPS just above the 3 point arm stabilizer. Yes the factory handle is WAY inconvenient for mowing use if you raise the mower often. I lengthened the SCV handle so it is just right of the arm rest, and is easy and comfortable to use.

The "kit", part number BLV10351 contained the 4 hole mounting bracket (in blue), my goal was to use one of them for the new on-board line holder. The top two holes have 1/2" pioneer female couplers, the bottom two were empty and used as storage for the dust plugs.

My "solution" was to mount (in the lower hole) these items in order rear to front:
a. 1/2" female quick disconnect
b. 1/2 brass closed nipple
c. 3, 3/4" washers
d. 1/2" brass cap.
The 3/4" washer slides over the nipple and the stack takes up the slack between the mounting bracket and cap allowing the cap to tighten up.

Here's the finished product, the red circle is another hole:

The female quick disconnect had a small steel check ball held in place with a spring and a pressed in keeper. It was easy to remove using a 3# hammer and a punch. This part is not reusable, it's mashed together.

I was reasonably sure the factory hole in the fitting would not depress the ball in the male end allowing it to leak. But since it was trashed as a fitting, I drilled the factory hole out to 5/8" inch. In the image below the red circle is the outer diameter of the male ball, the yellow circle is the outer edge of the new hole, showing the clearance.

Drilling out the fitting left a burr that was easily removed with a diamond mortise chisel sharpener. This attachment is designed to remove metal, and with a light touch it worked well. A nice burr-free bevel ensures that the male fitting will remain scar free.

I remove and salvaged the internal o-ring from the fitting to have on hand and to make it just a tad easier to insert the male fitting yet held securely. Here's another view of the finished product with the on-board hose moved to the new holder:

For <$20, I think it turned out well and most of all functional.
