I've been stalking the forum for a few weeks now after I got me a 2015 Kioti NX4510. My first tractor. It had less than 200 hours and came with a KL6010 FEL and a monstrous bush hog and box blade for the PTO. I also bought the PO's trailer. All for just a few hundred shares of my last employer's stock that I sold and some help from my neighbor to haul the equipment 3 hours from the other coast.
I'm gonna use it to clean up the dead 18-inch widow-makers I felled last month and prep a little clearing nestled in the back couple acres to stand up a 84x36 prefab to house my family's horses and to the board my wife's flipping biz. But first things first: need to buy-off the county building and natural resources offices by next month, so that the barn project completes before hurricanes arrive.
Thanks to the insight I gleaned from some of y'all's posts, I got a hold of Travis at EA and had him ship me his 60" Wicked Root Rake with a 3rd Function kit. I got 'er hooked up, but am kicking myself for not paying closer attention the hydraulic connectors on the grapple before locking it to the QA. Except for a bent locking arm and some scratched up connectors, all is good. Spent some of last Sunday playing with the grapple--so much fun!!!
While I was waiting for the grapple, I realized that I was gonna need to figure out how the weekend warrior in me was gonna unearth the 50 or 60 tree stumps scattered about the property. Thanks to the forum I was able to decide on a Titan stump bucket, which was easier on my calendar and bank account than a monthly excavator rental.
I am now caught up in the stupid customization projects that I don't seem to be able to shy away from whenever I get a new toy. Like when I bought my 05 VMax--you name it I did it. I am in the middle of waiting for a new battery and thanks to the forum I learned more than a pooter jockey should know about Groups. I'm splicing into the fusebox and switch panel, a 24" LED light bar to blind my nosy neighbors, and a 12v power socket / USB charge port to hold and charge my smartphone so that I can Bluetooth my Pandora stations into the 3M Worktunes I bought because DAYUM that bush hog is LOUD--what is it 50, 60-inched? Holy balls, just pulled out pamphlet--it's a 72-incher.
While at HF looking for a cheap snap ring spreader, I eyed their 10-dollar ooga horn. Said to myself, eff it why not. After hooking it in and subsequently shelving it. my daughter found me in a Youtube rabbit hole chasing down Dixie air horns and dreaming about my next stupid customization. It'll have to be funded with birthday money this summer, because I've got more important matters to lose sleep over--like the 200-hour maintenance that the PO more than likely pawned off on me.
I pulled the triggers on a set of filters, enough for the next four cycles. With this forum's help I was able to piece together a set from Amazon, RockAuto, and eBay; and got it down to something like $106 for a set of aftermarkets. I reckoned that these prices weren't gonna be forever, especially with the limited stock the sellers were claiming, so I figured I'd try to beat the odds and bet against the future.
I also have gained the needed info from y'all's opinions, experience, and factoids with respect to fluids and have decided to overlook the TSC stuff that my wallet screamed for, in preference of one of the name brands that are called out by the owner's manual.
Speaking of manuals, I've been looking for a good service manual that's comparable to the one I had for my motorsickle--one that spelled out step by steps with pictures and called part numbers that one could use to basically tear down and rebuild the machine. Any suggestions? Thanks again everyone!
