Hi all! I stumbled here after looking for a good forum for garden tractors. I love the format of the forum.
I live in North Alabama, and I just recently bought a 2005 John Deere L118 Limited Edition. It has 298 hours, and was a 1-owner machine. He bought it at the local JD dealer, and it has a great service history. I got it for $725 delivered.
So far, I really like it. The only thing wrong with it, is the rear tires have a very slow leak, but, that's no big deal to me. Slime works for me. I love the size of the rear tires, because my yard can stay wet for days, and , even after it dries up, the ground is soft. My use will be 99% mowing flat ground, probably at 1 to 1.5 hours each time. I may pull a little cart to pick up limbs and such, but, I won't use it for garden tractor work.
I have never had a twin-cylinder engine before, but, I am impressed with the power. I had a L110 a few years ago, but this L118 looks to be a bit better than the 110.
Anyhow, I'm glad to be here!
