This city boy is learning, but the more I learn the more I find out how ignorant I am. I sometimes use my B7800 to pull down a damaged tree that is hung up on another tree. What I do is cut the tree off near the base (if it's connected), wrap one end of a chain or cable around it and the other end to my FEL, and then back up. Works pretty well.
But I wonder if that kind of strain can damage the FEL, which, after all, was not designed to pull (I think). Now, I realize I have a drawbar (which IS designed for pulling). Two things -- 1) the drawbar is sort of buried behind my Woods BH frame and 2) presuming I took the BH off, how does this little bar with holes in it work? I've checked the manual, and that hasn't been much help.
If my question seems ridiculous, then so be it. But you guys have helped make small dents in my ingorance in the past, and I hope you'll do it again.
