Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

I had no idea Yanmar was so big. Lots of tracked equipment! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif You'd never know that by looking at the US website. In fact, it's kind of useless. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

The US Yanmar site is meant to be useless for grey tractor owners. They do not want them sold here. Nor do they want parts sold for them.

Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

I think you are right. Yanmar America's site is not a sales site. It is a "we exist, but we don't support these products" site. They tell that their other products exist, but don't promote them.

I like the EcoTra EF300 series tractor with the model standing in front of it....nothing sexier than vinyl short shorts and combat boots! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's funny! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And, of course, they forget the poor souls who may have an excavator or other industrial product.
I guess only time will tell when the present agreements with JD are expired, that they may actually become "legit". (I guess the same thing goes for Iseki & Agco)

Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

I don't know if they have forgotten the people who own excavators or whatever other non-grey product. I imagine that they support these through the Yanmar network. The web site is a pro-active way to try avoid lawsuits. They are advertising in magazines, maintaining a web site that discusses the grey market tractor risks, have warned Yanmar dealers (US) by certified letter not to order parts or support the grey market. All of this is to avoid lawsuits by not appearing to tacitly support this market. A several million dollar judgement is hard to overcome with parts sales.

Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

Even a remote controlled helicopter for spraying???? Looks like Yanmar could buy and sell some of the bigger US tractor companies!!!

Re: How\'s Your Japanese?

Yanmar is second bigest AG company in Japan, following to KUBOTA.
Now Yanmar is producing AG machines especially for ''rice'' field.
So Yanmar has strong position in Asian contries such as China, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan.....
Yanmar launched European business from 2004.
They are selling CUTs for grass or road maintenance.
Tha day Yanmar start the bisiness in US is coming soon!?
