I was looking at the Deere cab heater for the HPX. Attached is a picture of it. I then compared it to the Curtis heater. The Curtis heater cost less and looks a lot more integrated. Wondering if others have any experience with these? If I were getting a cab heater I think I would lean towards the Curtis.

If you look close you can see the Curtis heater installed under the storage hood. Looks like you lose the storage tray.

Not sure if we are supposed to post such pictures, but maybe the moderators could give us a heads-up on this. Maybe better to put a link to the site. I don't know for sure.

I am in the same boat. I am also looking for a heater. I really thing the JD heater will give you more heat in the cab because of the way the vents work. The problem is I dont think the JD heater will defrost like the Cutris one will. I think the Curtis one is the way to go. You lose a little hood space but that space is really lost anyways when the windshield in put in. Seems like the Curtis is the best one.

Some of the highlights of the Curtis model are:

Installs under hood and maintains partial storage area. With the windshield I don't use that under the hood storage much anyway. The Deere heater looks to take away the glove box area.

Two directional louvers under dash and one vent on top of dash provide excellent heat distribution.

Installs inside dash and gives a clean OEM finish.

I think your right. The Curtis one is the way to go.
