Dealer dropped off my HPX 4x4 diesel on Friday. It was delayed while the canopy shipped in. I noticed someone (JESSE1) posted a picture of his HPX with canopy and there is a black passenger seat hand rail above the green one. My canopy didn't have that. It also shows on the JD parts page. Dealer said they have done 2 canopies. Mine and one other and that hand rail wasn't on mine or the other they did. Looks like it would help keep you in but could also be a hip buster. Maybe it was dropped later in production of the canopy.

I also noticed on the picture posted, rear mud flaps. I have mud flaps in front of my rear tires but nothing to the rear. It looks like there is a place to hang them. Wonder if the person made them himself as I don't see them as an option. It looks like you could buy 2 of the ones in front of the back tire and mount them behind the back tire. You would have to watch you didn't tear them off while dumping the bed.

Very happy with the HPX so far. Still waiting till March to get the windshield, exterior mirrors, and interior light I ordered. I had hopes the overhead console would be big enough or even have a slot for a radio.

The canopy for my HPX came with both upper and lower handrails on the passenger side. The lower handrail could be a hip-buster if you jumped in too quickly but it works well to keep a passenger from sliding to the outside. Nice that seatbelts are also included with the ROPS.

I added the rear mudflaps. The holes are already in the fender. I ordered them through the parts dept. They're probably the same as the front flaps. I haven't had any problem when dumping a load. I ordered rear worklights-thought I would get two but only one to a kit. Very bright though! I want to get another one for the rear and two for the front.

I've really made use of the 4 wheel drive. It handles mud much better than my 6x4. So far, 85 hrs and no problems.

Is your lower handrail bolted or welded in? My dealer said this is there second install and no lower handrail. How long ago did you get you HPX/Canopy?

I thought that is what you did with the rear mudflaps after looking at the fenders. The holes are there already as the fender is the same for each side. I got a part number from JD for the flap.

On the rear work lights. I didn't get front or rear as yet. The price on the Deere WEB site lists $210 for front and $158 for rear. I assumed they included both lights in each kit. You have a part number for the rear kit you got or did the dealer install? Remember the price?

I got a set of the heavy black rubber flaps with the JD logo on them for the rear of our HPX. The holes on them do not all match up with the holes on the fender but once they are on you do not notice. We bought our HPX in 12/04 and will check in regards to the hand rail on mine next time out to the shed. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The lower handrail is welded on. I bought my HPX in early September.

I got lucky on the worklight. Dealer sold it at his cost and installed it with the canopy, hoist and bed liner. The price is for ONE rear worklight. It's a Hella and blindingly bright. When I ordered it I naturally thought it was for two, since there are two mounts. I'd like to add another to the rear and two on the front but I haven't priced them yet.

There must have been a production change on the canopy in which they eliminated that lower hand rail. I ordered mine in early January.

I looked at the HPX work light kits on the JD parts site. The front work light kit includes 2 lights. The rear light kit only includes 1 rear light. To add a second rear light I assume you would order the light itself and splice it into the rear work light wiring harness. I did a quick break down of some of the parts in these kits.

VGA1212 Lamp with bulb - $125
Bulb itself is a LVU13787 but the watts are not listed.
VGA12173 Light switch - $59

Add these up and you see where the kits get there price. You have to think you could put a light system on for less.

That is the only grind that I have with the HPX. That canopy should really be standard equipment.
