I've purchased 4 Stihl chain saws in recent years, and I've removed the spark arrestors from the muffler in each one. If nothing else, it eliminates one more maintenance item to fiddle with.
Now with my new TG, I just pulled off the spark arrestor on the tail pipe. In my part of the world, I don't envision any fire threat. And I'm hoping leaving it off will have a positive effect on the performance, even small.
Any down side to running the TG without the arrestor? (It's got the Kawa 617cc two cylinder gas power plant).
thanks... jim
