My HPX canopy windshield came in yesterday. I stopped and picked it up at my dealer. It was delayed in shipping so dealer brought the HPX and I said I would install the windshield myself. Dealer offered but I wanted to do it myself. The windshield comes from Austria. I think the canopy and all it's options come from there.

I was highly inpressed with the packing. I was as impressed with the quality of the windshield and it's fit. The installation was so easy. I had it on in minutes and the installation was well thought out. Very few parts and most of the nuts were on the bolts already. Only four bolts to attach. I did the install on the way out the door to work and wasn't late.

Only drawback is you need tilt the glass out and remove the lower windshield frame to open the hood trunk. They provided hand knobs to remove the frame pretty quick. Not thinking I would use that area for storage anymore but it is pretty quick to get at the radiator if needed.

I still need to connect the electrical kit to provide power in the console of the canopy. The windshield comes with a wiper and I got an interior light. All the harnesses plug right in and the directions are very very clear and well thought out. I also have the two exterior mirrors to mount but that looks easy as well. I will try and get a picture and post if anyone is interested?

I'd like to see a picture. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifThe windshield may be my next addition. Do you plan to get the doors and rear glass?

YES, please post a picture and how much it cost you... My F-I-L is thinking of making his own windshield if he buys one. Or, should I say, WHEN he buys one.

Pictures please! I am thinking about getting the windshield also. Was wondering how hard the install would be, especially the wiper. I am no electrical guru!

I'll get a picture this weekend and post. The windshield kit went for $600 if I recall. It includes the wiper and the wiper is already installed in the glass. Very nice fit. Windshield flips out in the bottom as a vent. I have the door kit in mind which includes the rear window. Comes in soft and hard versions. Saving for it and the heater. Maybe this coming year.

There are two bolts to attach the windshield at the top. A windshield frame mounts to the canopy at the bottom with two bolts with a thread on knob. Very quick to install. I also added the two external mirrors which are nice. They flip in if needed to prevent damage in close quarters.

There is an electrical kit to provide power to the wiper and the work lights on the canopy. I'm in the process of getting this kit installed. It is all plug and play. No wire cutting and it all taps into the HPX wiring harness.

The JD work lights are pricy but I'm thinking of adding them. The windshield kit states to install the front work light kit if you have them as the bracket for the lights needs to be added before the windshield is attached. Doesn't look like a big deal to unbolt the windshield to add the lights later. The rear work light kit only gives you one light. I would think you could buy a single light from parts and tap it in to get two rear lights. The way JD has it designed is you add one rear work light and the other rear mounting point is for the warning beacon light.

Canopy windshield open. Note the left JD exterior mirror. I put on the right mirror after the picture. They are working great and fold in when needed.

Looks great! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif since I just bought a winch the windshield will need to wait until next year! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The windshield looks real good. I've should have bought it when I got my HPX. At least it is an easy add-on. The canopy blocks a lot of rain but it does run down right on your knees when you stop. I'm going by my dealer later this week to pick up filters for an oil change and I'll talk to him about it then.
