I'm only 14 hours in with my new L4740 cab w backhoe and loader and have noticed the tractor will creep forward or reverse (depending on slope) after I have removed my foot from the hst pedal. I don't think it did this back at 3 hours. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks

any hst i have run will slowly coast downhill when in neutral and parking brake off. the more slope the faster the coast. still better then a gear shift in neutral, that would free wheel bad. also different hst will coast more or less then others.

Normal operation. They all do it.

My Kioti DK35Se HST rolls on the hills unlike my mahindra 2810 HST. why? who knows .. . Guess thats why they put a parking brake on them . . .John

Well that is good to know. All the tractors I've ever run before this one have been gear jammers.

Thanks John! I just love it when I set out too do something and when its done there is still time and energy to do more. I should have bought a tractor 10 years ago.

Mine, when it was new, would hold on a very gentle slope.....now, will very, very slowly creep forward/reverse depending on slope direction and amount. So, my conclusion is that as a tractor breaks in a small amount of creep is typical.

Normal for the HSTs, I have driven.

Just a heads up to all HST owners. Supposedly if you leave the engine off and the brake off the HST will creep forward and pump the oil out of the HST and allow it to then freewheel (or nearly so). I have only read about this but thought it was worth a mention. I get off of my tractor on a hill and I set the brake and leave it running.
