It is a simple $5 push-pull choke cable sold at my local Car Quest. It is routed over the steering column, tie-wrapped to the HST pedal stop and connected to the small lever with a hole I drilled in it. Knob doesn't stick out past the cruise control lever and is completely in when the pedal is released. Pretty slick I think!

I chose this location because my hand is already there to set the parking brake. It could be installed at any location with the proper length cable

Just curious. Why do you need to hook the clutch hold down so often?

I do a lot of BH work. I was told to reclip the HST pedal when not moving.........................sound accurate?

I don't see why you would need to re-hook the clutch. We don't tell any of our customers to do this. The catch on the clutch is just for long storage periods, to prevent the possibility of the disk sticking to the flywheel. Which really has never been a problem on newer tractors, just the older (not Kioti) tractors.

If I was using the BH I would just put it in Neutral and set the park brake. Should really be all that is needed.

That is right. It is just for long term storage. Maybe you can use the cable for something else. Any ideas? BTW, you did a good job installing it.

Did your dealer mention a reason for latching it down? It is one inventive setup you got going though..... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No need to remove it, and it hurts nothing to hook the clutch pedal every time. One thing about hooking it each time is that you don't have to bother pushing it the next time you want to start the tractor.
I also hook mine, pretty much each time, simply because clutches used to stick on me on old models. It's just a habit that I don't mind continuing. I have to admit, your setup makes it easier!
