When I take my foot off of the HST pedal it takes an unusually long time for my B1550 to stop. Is there an adjustment for this, or is it just age / wear?

Is it the same in reverse?
sounds like an adjustment, or you pedal needs grease. There is a grease zerk at the pedal pivot, accessable from the top of the deck.

Not familiar with your particular model, but look under the right side foot board. attached to the linkage is a small hydraulic dampner. If grease and such doesn't cure your problem there is some adjustment that can be made with this. I believe that there are 2 nuts which appear on the linkage end but only one is the correct one for the return speed. I'd want to check a manual to see which is the correct one before adjusting.

Does a 7510 have a grease fitting for it too? After useing mine for a while I have to take it out of reverse with my foot manually or it stays in reverse for a while. Also doesn't like to go into reverse unless I push down kind of hard.

My B7610 sure does, hookem. It's under the floorboard and kind of hidden behind the mower lift linkage, but it'll be pointed straight out at ya'. I try to hit mine every 20 hours. Reversing in High can get exciting if I forget.

Thanks for the reference.

quick question for you, the b1550, does it have the cover over the trans tonnel which is removable to axcess the filter, if so, there is a threaded section pointing up with 2 flat sides, it is the tension for the neutral return spring, give it another 1/2' of tension, the other thing i have seen is if you look up under the machine inside the tunnel, you cn see the link it attaches to, it has a roller on the end, which can sieze or if the neural arm bush is worn, it jumps off the side or its cam. fairly shure that this is the set up on your machine, grease that grease point first though.
