Hope its ok to post this here as well as in the Mahindra forum. My Mahindra 2615HST tractor starts and runs fine when used in low range. If I try to use hi or medium range to travel the woods road quicker the tractor will bog down and if I don't release the pedal it will stall. After releasing pedal (if I catch it quick enough) the rpm's will come back up to normal and I can put it back in low and proceed.

Hope someone has some ideas of what to check. Dealer didn't have any suggestions. I changed all the filters and fluids recently thinking maybe a clogging filter was restricting flow but that made no difference. Any ideas?

I got two suggestions so far on the Mahindra forum...check for a stick jamming brake pedal from underneath and check for gunk in the bottom of the fuel tank.

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions
Greg

Make sure remote hydraulic lever is disengaged and the 3 point lever is as well.

A few questions that might help with suggestions:
Are you running the engine at high RPMs?
Are the trails fairly level, long inclines, or hilly?
When you run it in medium and high range, are you backing off the pedal to gain power, or are you keeping the pedal fully pressed?

Ford850 questions should cure your problem.
Pushing pedal way down trying to go up grade you'll lose RPM's fluid flow to HST...low gear.

What everyone else has said, also not trying to sound condescending, but I did not understand how an HST worked when I got mine - It's not a gas pedal, its a volume setting for a pump output, mashing it to the floor will not make it go faster on even the slightest of inclines, try feathering the pedal a bit when you start out, and find the max position it will move at the speed you want it before stalling. I use my high range only on the road, and with a very slight incline it can only go about 3/4 way to the floor beforehand stalling.
Good luck!

^^^^ what everyone else has said.

Operating a HST is a whole different animal

I've found that my HST 4105 has a rev 'sweet spot', which is just a titch above 2000. Unless I'm on a paved road (2500 revs) or operating a PTO implement, that's the revs that it likes to be at... and that's in both High or Low. (I don't have a middle range)

I have yet to stall. This is also whilst climbing (and backing down) some 30-35degree slopes to fetch & carry freshly made round bales.

Find your 'sweet spot' and you'll be a happy HST operator.
