I recently noticed that the transmission or something else makes a noise when the pedal is about halway down at 1500 RPM. It sounds to me like a ball bearing noise that goes away when either the RPM or the pedal position change. I wonder if anyone else had experienced such thing on their macine and what is the cure for this? The tractor is a B7510 with 82 hrs. I bought it about six weeks ago with 70hrs and this is the first time I noticed it. Is that something common? The transmission operates very jerky sometimes when I just push the pedal a little bit. It had the 50 hr service done just when I bought it so there supposed to be fresh fluid and filters in there. Please give your opinion on this. What can cause this? Normal... or trouble?
thanks

More questions, who did the 50 hr service, was the screen cleaned, what fluid did they put back in, does the filter meet specs? Who did the service is not that important, might clear up some of the other questions though.

The service was done by the dealer. They sold the machine to the previous owner as well and they had the record of not having done the 50 hr service at their shop. I don't know if the screens were cleaned and also have no info on the kind of fluid that was put in the transmission. It was all done (supposedly) before I signed and emptied my wallet.

Wrong/restrictive filter, wrong fluid, restricted screen could be possibilities for jerky action. Hydrostatic transmissions make whining noises that don't necessarily indicate a problem. I get the impression you are not too thrilled with your dealer, so if I were in your situation, I would get a new Kubota filter and new Kubota Sudt fluid and change it along with cleaning the pickup screen. If there is still a problem, with the low hrs. I assume there is still a warranty, have it checked at a dealer that you trust.

Thank you for the help Milkman. You are right I don't particularly like the dealer, I bought the tractor there because it was a good price and the next closest one is 60 miles instead of 10 . I do have warantee left and I will check if this is covered. Can I clean the straining screens without draining all the fluid? I guess that is the only thing i can do without buying anything unless the fluid has to go. I thought aboout doing the 100 hr sercvice myself but now there is this to deal with. Does it demage the transmission if I use it like that for a while longer?

Do it all at the same time. Be done with it. Between the tractor heads here, and this link (Thanks Mess). ==> Kubota B-Series Fluids and Filters You can't go wrong.

I'd let the machine sit idle, order the parts tomorrow from the same attached link (call them if necessary, they'll hook you up), plan on servicing the machine ASAP. Done deal.

Lolly-gagging not allowed. :D

I'm with crbr on this one, go ahead and do the 100 hr. service and get it over with. When you take the strainer bolt out, you will lose most of your hydraulic fluid anyway. Did you get the manuals with the tractor, it will give all the capacities, and doing the service yourself is a good way to become familiar with your new machine. Keep us updated, you'll enjoy the adventure, and we don't want to miss any of it.:)

My BX tranny is "jerky" with slight pedal pressure, but only when temps are high and revs are low.

Might be dumb luck, but I have pulled my screen and changed HST filter with minimal fluid loss, less than 1/2 quart.

Thank you for the help. I have to say the only reason why I thought I'd do the 100hr service, because I know that there are knowledgeable people here. So if I run into trouble I can always ask. I do have the manual for the tractor and as soon as I get home will order the parts/fluid and tackle the task later this week or next week at the latest. Time is in short supply these days.
Thanks again
