ht3813 blades spin but don't cut

i have a honda ht3813, the blades spin but it does not cut grass at any level

Make sure the blades aren't on backwards. The cutting edge has to be in front as it spins.

it was cutting before, then all of sudden just stopped, i think maybe the belt is loose? i tried to tighten the tension but nothing

Does it have an electric clutch for the deck ?

not sure i think its just a belt though, hoe do i check?

Look for a pully with wires going to it.

If it is running DON'T try to check it. Kill the engine. If you don't, that will be the first time it will cut. A belt can be so bad that the blades will spin without being loaded but not cut at all. Just be careful with mower blades, and yes, check to see if they are on backwards.
