Joe has been around the RC truck and equipment community for a long time. As a fellow RC hobbyist, Ive been watching his progress for years and sharing in his wealth of experience / knowledge.
Honestly, Im surprised it has only been recenltly that I have seen him pop up in areas of the web outside of hobby specific forums.
I think a factor of his choice of how to stay active in his hobby has to do with the long Canadian winters.

And here I thought it was a lack of space to get a real shovel in there to work, lol.

I'm thinkin' there ought to be a way to team this guy up with the Hoffman crew up at Quartz Creek. :D I think his trommel works better, and the lump crusher could be beefed up a little to really do some serious bustin'. Operating costs got to be way, way less! I'll bet Harness could rig up a WaterPik to get enough flow and really "clean up" at the wash plant. Bet they could be in the black after only, say.......10 ounces.

I don't think his goal was to actually excavate his basement. It is more that he loves RC and construction equipment.

I love heavy equipment myself and so do a lot of you. My desires are satisfied with my tractor though.

His skill in building and engineering is fantastic. Gotta give him credit for the most unusual way to excavate your basement.
