Been heating solely with wood for several years and the first couple years cut with a Homelite with 20 inch bar from Home Depot- after just 2 years of use- everything on that saw except the engine itself has been trouble ,
Got tired of carb problems ,oiler problems,chain break problems, throttle problems, starter recoil problems, oh and best for last did I say carb- primer bulb failure problems. Had enough of that saw...
Picked up a Husky 350 -and what a massive improvement in Every way -lighter more powerful and best of all Trouble Free -for 5 years until this:
Ordered a new clutch drum from amazon -but it must be on the slow boat from china cause looks like a full month till anticipated delivery.
I even tried to repair the drum by tig welding combined with mig and then grinding the hub to tempararily restore the chain drive teeth and it worked for one tree being bucked up and then back to being stripped out.
at this point i got ticked about the slow amazon progress and ordered a newer style drum off of ebay that has replaceable chain drive pieces but needed to keep cutting so it occured to me that when my dad passed i inherited an old McCulloch saw in a custom made wood enclosure.
Being busy , never even took the saw out of the case, but seeing how I didn't have a working saw at this point decided to give it a try.
Once I removed the saw and checked out the model I was surprised to find out this was a 70cc saw and kind of got a little excited -so filled her up with some 40:1 and the darn thing started right up!!
Fuel tank leaked so resealed that and went back to firewood work;

I have to say this old saw ROCKS
- -Torquey, power that easily pulls the 20 inch bar the only downsides is It is LOUD and a bit heavy.
Still like the Husky for firewood but this will make a great back up saw and will work well for the bigger stuff if I get a longer bar for it.
Officially Impressed with OLD MCCulloch saw- and Thanks Dad - for still helping me out
