Does anyone have a husky[home depot] tool box.Ive always wanted a top notch box for my garage.Looking at that 4 ft wide roll away and chest at hd.I priced a similar unit on line by craftsman -3500 bucks,i about keeled over.that one at hd is about 900plus.
I wasnt impressed with their display model.the bottom center divider was out of wack so the drawers didnt look perfectly straight.also one of the draw tracks was shot to heck.Ithink this unit has been on display for a few years,i was wondering if this poor quality of this unit, meant they are all junk,or this one has been beat up.The drawer tracks dont look like the ones from sears, but they work ok.DO YOU HAVE A HUSKY BALL BEARING BOX,HOW LONG YOU HAD IT,IS IT DURABLE.would appreciate your response

We have 4 and I have a smaller one I take with me to the field when I am working. So far I have not had any problems with any of ours.

I know New Holland is selling Snap On tools now. My dealer has a nice tool chest set up. Thing is almost 6 feet tall. Price is way up there to.

If you do buy one from the Home Depot and it has any problems just take it back. The employees don't care as they do their job. Show them your receipt and you can either get a replacement or refund. I don't care for Home Depot for a lot of other reasons but they do take care of any problems with merchandise no questions asked.

Just food for thought. I bought a stainless steel one from sams. It was around $625 or so and I would compare it to others that I have seen for over $1000. To top it off, I got a dented one (on the side, just cosmetic) for $325. It has great slides and casters.

Well about three years ago or so I was tool box shopping because the craftsman tool boxes I have were full ... While at home depot I looked at the Husky line and my opinion was they are much better than the slide drawers on my craftsman boxes and at least as good for my purposes as the ball bearing drawers from craftsman. I held off buying before christmas as the red husky was $900+ for the 41" wide dual stacked 5' high and the same sized Tony Stewart box was $1300, I procrastinated long enough for it to actually pay-off because sometime in january or february the Tony Stewart box dropped to the same price as the red box.

Not that I'm a big nascar fan or a Tony Stewart fan but hey a limited edition (2500)tool box for the price of the standard box was all I needed to jump over the want vs. need hurdle.

OH When I finally decided to get one, all the home depots that had them before christmas and just after were now out of them in my area, It seems the fellas from the south (nascar country) were buying them all up. I managed to find one store with one left and took off early from work to get it /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif a little crazy perhaps but what the heck, ya only live once. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But I do like the box nice big wheels locks top and bottom. Drawers still slide nice and smooth, I don't think you'd be disappointed

I've got one of THESE

They are local to me but I'm not affiliated with them. He started out building these for the go cart racer crowd. Seems he now has one that I think he designed with someone from NASCAR (look at the Model 3500)

The drawer section is a Craftsman toolbox unless he's changed.

Mine is more like the Model 1500 but mine also has a convienece outlet built into the tabletop /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
