I know Husqvarna owns Poulan but I hate the oregon chains sold in the box stores for the Poulans. I also have a Husqvarna and after trying an oregon chain on it I reverted to Husky chains. Husky chains stay sharp longer and seem to take a much more agressive bite.

My question is this, Does Husqvarna make chain to fit the Poulans?

Yes you can run Husky chain on a Poulan. Just make sure gauge and pitch is right.

Oregon makes Husky chain. And Oregon makes very good chain, they also make some junk chain.

I don't and wont buy chain at a box store.

I'm pretty sure some of the Huskys run Oregon chain out of the box. I don't believe Husqvarna makes their own chain.

Oregon chain tends to be softer which makes easier sharpening but quicker to dull. Carlton makes a good chain. All you have to look for is the right number of driver links and gauge it shouldn't matter who makes it for which saw.

Oregon makes chain for husky to my knowledge. But there are different types of oregon chain. Some better than others.

With a chain, there are 3 things that need to match up and you are good to go.
1. Length. Easiest way to do this is by the number of drive-links. These are the "teeth" on the bottom of the chain that go in the grove on the bar.
2. Pitch. This is the spacing between the rivits on the chain. Measure the distance between 3 rivets (two spaces) and divide by 2. Yours is probabally .325" but could be 3/8".
3. Guage. This is the thickness of the drivelinks I mention in #1. Usually 0.050 or 0.058"

All of this info can usually be found stamped on the bar.

As for chain, take this information to a stihl dealer and have him make you a chain. Stihl chain is by far the best that I have found in terms of durability.

Oregon makes the original chains for almost all chainsaws, except maybe Stihl, and from my discussions with Stihl reps and Oregon reps, that may be debatable. Oregon also owns Carlton chain. They did own Windsor until it was discontinued.

Oregon basically has three grades of chain. The box store grade, the semipro grade sold at dealers, and the pro grade also sold at Oregon chain dealers.

OP, go to Bailey's web site and read up on chain.

It's been said but not directly:

Chain is not brand specific. Any brand chain will fit any brand saw as long as the pitch, #drive links, etc. match.

That information is usually stamped on the bar.
