Husqvarna 460 24 inch

Hi All,

There is a good promotion going on at several retailers for $120 off on the Husky 460 chainsaw 24 inch.
I really wanted just a 20 inch but at the discount price am tempted to get this and then buy a 20 inch bar and chain if it’s too big. I did see a review that said that despite its size and weight it can be underpowered.
Would a 455 20 inch Rancher still be better?

I am curious if they are discounting it because maybe they are discontinuing it? It does not come with the X Cut chain.
Thoughts?

I have an old rancher 61 with both 20” and 24” bar. 24” Makes the saw work but for the occasional use when 20” won’t reach it works. Also have rancher 55 with 20”.

Not sure how these compare in size to the 460 though.

I can't tell you if they are the same saw or not, but here is another TBN member's comments regarding the 450.

Whatever you do dont buy a plastic cased husky 450. Turds in my book.

I remember when those turds come out to replace the 350 husky. They suk.
I wont even rebuild them for flips. I sell them as is. Most need carbs or seals and not worth even that cost to me.

For same money buy a echo 4910 or echo 501 with mag cases.

460 same saw as 455 just with bigger bore. If can get for same price do it. But they are a strato plastic designed saw.

Money be better spend on a mag cased echo 620 or the 590.
