Husqvarna YTH2448 I am confused?

Bought this in 2005 from Sears and only time I had problems was when Uncle Sam forced the ethanol on us. Was just one time when it had less than 200 hours. I learned how to store my tractor and never had another carb issue again.
The only thing that broke was the rod for the forward and reverse..I had a mig and fixed for free.

Doesnt burn oil to date and it has 1,700 hours.

Confused because its been trouble free for me.

Nothing to be confused about. All depends on use, the transmission in it and the maintenance you've done to keep it operational. Most of these simple machines can last a lifetime that we are in for them. I have a 1994 Steiner 420 with a Onan 20hp engine. Still working like a champ. Yeah, I do the maintenance on it to keep it running though and fix the things that go wrong. Still 30 years is a good number for any machine made by mankind. I also have a 09' Craftsman Black Professional model that I bought from the Sears Outlet back then for $1100 bucks. It too is still working well. I've had to do repairs to it of course and the K46 transmission isn't great but it's still working too. Even though they were known for their lousy hill climbing abilities mine works well with synthetic fluid in it and changing it twice in that time period (once just last december).

The truth is, how long do you want your equipment to last? Repairs and proper maintenance along the way does that.

I suspect most people that take the time to read here on TBN also take reasonable care of their equipment. 1700 hours on a small engine is certainly good service, but you didn't get that far by not properly maintaining it.
I know some people in my area that are lucky to get 200 hours on their lawn mowers.
