I confess.....I am totally confused and am probably making this choice into a much bigger deal than is necessary. John Deere 303 is recommended in my owners manual. My Deere dealer says all they have now is Hy Gard. Is Low Viscosity Hy Gard the appropriate transmission/hyd oil for my tractor? I assume that it probably meets the standards required by my tractor but then I read about clutches delaminating, incorrect viscosity profiles, SUDT, and dozens of other things that I cannot begin to understand or evaluate. I realize that I will never know all that I need to know to make an informed decision so I am just asking the experts of this forum.....Is Hy Gard Low Vis a good product for my Yanmar since Deere no longer makes the 303?
