Oil & Fuel Hy tran Ultra oil

I have a new farmall 45 and I getting ready to buy some hydraulic oil. My local fleet farm has case/ih oil. I was wondering if this is the same oil will it work or should i get oil form my case dealer. My manual said i should use hy - tran ultra what is the difference can i use another oil? Thanks

I would use what it calls for,especially on a new tractor. You can find other brands that meet the same specs and are compatible with Hy-Tran. I would at least use that.

There are few oils that match there spec's. None that I've seen that will absorb as much moisture which you will need where you live. It also is a bit thinner then the generic oils.

Some say you don't want the oil to abosorb it, if it doesn't it freezes up in the lowest part of your transmission, guess where your transmission oil pickup is? I wouldn't want mine in an ice cube!

It says it absorbs water how but, how much water do you think it absorbs. After it absorbs the water what happens to it. Does it change the life of your oil? Yes, a block of ice in the bottom of my return would be a bad thing

We've tested it against some of the main players but in small quanities only.

It does work!

Biggest key, if it starts turning pink, your getting near the maximum before a potential freeze.
For the belive it or not some variation of viscosity will also be found. hytran normally has also worked better in cold weather conditions here tractors.

Use what Case IH recommends. What little you save on the cost of the fluid is not worth it.

Universal Hydraulic oil like the cheap stuff must be the smartest oil in the world! It must know whether to be 10W, 20-20W, or 30W just by know what you put it in. Use the Hy-Trans! It is a 30 weight oil, where as the cheap stuff that fits every thing is usally 10 weight.
