Anyone know what Wix number filter I need? I want a temp filter after I install the loader, then I'm going to order "the good one" from hoye and do a good flush.

Thanks

The 51120 actually has a much finer filter media (over 3x finer) than the original. It will plug up very fast.

How long is quickley? I need something to put on tonight after I get the loader hydraulics installed. I plan on doing a good flush soon, with the filters you sell. How long do you think I would have, or would you recomend a different filter for the interim( that would be able to be purchased at a local store)?

If you are installing a new loader I would say that filter would last about 20 minutes :(.

Most of the loaders are shipped with a grease inside of the cylinders that gums up the filters & screens. We use to sell tractors & install new loaders. We could not figure out why, when the customer came to pick up the tractor, the filters would be plugged and the loader wouldn't lift. It was the grease from the loader cylinders combined with the wrong (51120) filter. After researching the Yanmar filter we found the 51120 filters that were being shipped as "direct" replacements were way too fine.

I would recommend installing the loader & run it for a day before changing the filter & cleaning the screen. Those filters are not cheap. Give me a call and I can recommend something that would work better.

I've had that problem with the 51199 but not with the 51120.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the spin-on hydraulic filter. Most Yanmars don't even have one. Your old one should be fine until you can get one ordered.

Yes, the 51199 is another common one being sold. It is even a finer yet. Almost twice as fine as the 51120.

I'm with Norm. Even if you do get a new filter you will likely plug it up soon after the loader is installed anyway.

I agree Norm, the old one will probably be sufficient for quiet a while.

Believe it or not, we use the branson filters on all the FX tractors that we have & sell, and we have never had a problem at all in years of using them.
They are almost identical to the Yanmar original filters.

You would have to locate a branson dealer for an OEM filter.
