I paid my local deal to complete the first preventive maintenance service interval on my TC21D. Per the manual, his invoice says that he replaced, along with the engine oil filter, both the hydraulic and hydrostat oil filters... However... The engine oil filter is now a white & blue (NH colors) filter, but the other filters are still the battleship grey that they were originally... I started wondering... Did the dealer even change those filters? Has anyone purchased these two filters (SBA340500800 & 770 respectfully)? Ones that are sold over the counter - are they grey or white & blue?
Thanks.

On my TC33D, the oil filter is now black, the hydraulic filter is now orange, and the HST filter stayed grey; all started out grey. I just did the 50 hr maintenance on Saturday.

When you changed your fuel filter did you have to bleed the injector lines, or just the bleeding screw?

On my TC-18 I just changed the filter then used the bleed screw, but that spanner nut on the filter bowl is a ****er. Should have done that before I put the FEL on!! Hard to get to !! dass

When I changed the fuel filter, I just bled the line with the one bleed screw. It was sufficient because it started right up afterwards, no hesitation at all.

Re: Hyd & Hst Filters

Just finished my 2nd round of filter changes. WIsh there was some consistency with the filters I get from the dealer. First time I purchased new filters, sizes and colors changed: battleship gray to blue/white on hydraulic and gray to black on oil. Also, the filters were noticeably smaller. Just finished changing oil filter again this weekend. It is now blue & white, and larger than the black one.

Every time I get a new one from the dealer, the size and color change!

Re: Hyd & Hst Filters

... Exactly why I question the blanket statement that "the dealer knows best". Additionally, even if the dealer is doing exactly as he is told - this varying of filter looks indicates to me that NH is just purchasing the filters from someone else... Now if I could just find any sort of a manufacturer's mark...

Re: Hyd & Hst Filters

paul: check your invoices and see if the dealer is selling you the same part number there is a couple of different options on the engine oil filter and hydraulic oil filter that he could sell you depending on what model tc you have. if you like one filter style over the other just request that number when you go in the next time. oh and cheer up the filter colors will be changing again. New Holland is changing the base color of these tractors one more time to a darker charcoal gray.
