Oil & Fuel Hyd oil change pan

Was in Lowes today, and back in the masonry area, I found a black plastic pan measuring 2 feet by 3 feet by 8 inches deep. If my calculations are correct, this pan will hold almost 30 gallons, and is only 8" deep. For my 4x4
L3010 GST which holds 10.8 gallons of transmission oil, and half that in the front axle, and about a gallon in the FEL, this pan solves a catch and contain problem, that is much easier to use than cut down 5 gallon buckets.

The price is $13, but it should last a loooong time. Looks like it should work nice for transmission, axles, and engines. Smooth bottom which will wipe clean easily.

Just a thought that might help someone. I bought one tonight.

Better yet, get a huge drain pan. It can be completly sealed and either carried or rolled on the wheels it has on the bottom when it's full. That's a nice feature since over 10 gallons of oil can weigh a good bit.

I own a couple of these 58 quart drain pans and would be lost without them. I highly recomend them.

That's a real nice oil drain pan, and very handy. Just a tad expensive though.

Up until a few years ago I had a mobile fleet service/repair business. The drain pans may have been expensive but they were well worth it. Actually they are rather cheap for the size. Some of the over 50 quart drain pans get into the hundreds if not low $1K range, but they do have a preasure system to empty them using compressed air.

I'm sure they are real nice, and if I was changing lots of oil every day, I would consider one. I just changed the transmission oil in my L3010, and used the el' cheapo $13 pan. It worked great.
