Hey All,

Well, TC45DA started leaking Hydro Fluid this week, tractor has 28 hours on it. I called the dealer and they came and picked up, fixed it under warranty, and returned it today, two days later. Real happy with quick response, also, they power washed it and cleaned it up like new. (I had it covered in clay mud) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Anyway, just wanted to relay what they did if any of you have similar problems. And I quote from the invoice "CHECKED OVER AND FOUND HYD LEAK AT TOP OF TRANS, REMOVED FLOOR MAT/COVERS AND FOUND PLUG FOR TESTING CLUTCH PACKS LEAKING, REMOVED PLUG, APPLIED THREAD LOCK TAPE, REINSTALLED PLUG, TOPPED HYD OIL LEVEL, REINSTALLED FLOOR MAT/COVERS, OPERATED UNIT AND NO LEAKS, POWERWASHED UNIT" Pretty simple sounding. The leak was dripping center of tractor right under driver seat.

I think you are at least the 3rd or 4th person to report that problem of leaks from the pressure test ports. That's where they test the hydrostatic transmission forward and reverse relief valve pressure. There can be 5,000 psi of pressure on those ports (the hydro relief setting). I'm glad you got yours fixed...and a free wash. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Brian is your tractor an 03 or 04? Just curious.

Jim would this be something I need to have looked at before purchasing mine at the dealer? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Is it due to NH not sealing the ports back correctly when they finish testing?

I don't think I'd worry about it unless I saw fluid dripping off my transmission casing. It probably never leaks on 9 out of 10 tractors and can easily be fixed if it does. It's not going to leak enough to hurt anything, so my personal opinion is if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It's interesting that our tractors transmission case on hydro models is just an empty housing with the hydro tranny attached inside. There is no fluid in the casing like there is on the gear models. Ours is kinda like a transmission inside a transmission. The outside casing is there just to give strength to the tractor structure and frame.

Those fittings are plumbed off the top of the transmission and through the outside housing. If they don't leak initially when you give your tractor a good workout, they probably never will unless your dealer might do a pressure test for you and not get them resealed properly. Of all the things that can go wrong, I think you can consider this one very minor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

BY, yes I was also one of the lucky ones that had a leak at the test ports as well. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I had it fixed at about 100 or so hours so I could play with it a bit before the dealer came out and picked it up. I know exactly how you feel to have one that doesn't drip hydraulic fluid on the concrete floor of my pole barn any longer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif BIG SMILE

Hey Fella's,

The thing about the leak is .it didn't, or at least not much for the first20 plus hours, then did some hard work trying to knock over some 12' diameter Jinman trees /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, okay, some partially cut 18" trees and I noticed after that the drip was pretty steady when the tractor was running.

Yesterday my dad came over and was playing with it in the back grading over an area covered in 1/2" trees, he stopped the tractor and built a bonfire. Then the tractor wouldn't start afterthat. Today I climbed under it and discovered that there was a wire disconnected underneath. Plugged her back in and she ran fine. Now I'm thinking about that skidplate!!

To answer a question someone asked, it's the '04 (You know, the modern model with the sexy lights! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)
