Kioti DK 35 now
Kioti DK35 list gpm @ 12.1

Branson 3820i list gpm @ 8.4

I drove both and the steering was much quicker and smoother on the DK (thats what made us look into the pump stats)

So what I see is I have more volumne to share with maybe a log splitter or whatever in the DK?? And would that make sense to what the dealer told me that the Branson was not designed originaly with fel in mind but more for rear end heavy work?? explains the headlight location somewhat.
would also seem the higher gpm pump would give better draft control while moving???

Ok, Lot's of variables here! You have pointed out one, pump volume. Others would be pump pressure, cylinder size, mechanical leverage, etc.

It is probably easier to say that one had faster steering than the other and just leave it at that! Personally, while I LOVE sales people, I wouldn't trust any technical "fact" that might dribble out of their mouths. Last truck I bought, I was browsing the sales lit while talking to the sales person and corrected him 5-6 times in 10 minutes. Pitiful.

Pump volume and draft control won't be strongly interrelated.

Both the Kioti and Branson tractors have strong points, pick the one that matches your intended uses the best.

Another variable is steering vs. remotes/3pt. Many tractors have separate pumps for steering and hydraulics BUT show the combined flow rate for advertising purposes.

The Branson number you are using does not included the power steering pump. The Branson actually has slightly more total flow, but it is really an insignificant difference. The Branson would run the splitter faster, but it's really close.

Thanks for the imput, I knew some tractors had seperate power steering pumps, I just was told the DK has 2 pumps.

I think you will find most newer tractors have two pumps. I addition some mfgs will list both the pump volumes and than the "total hydraulic flow" I cannot think of any scenario where the total flow number really means anything. They are two completely different systems and are never combined in actual use.

Western,
Funny story.
I have two pumps on it, one for the the tractor hydraulics and one for the power steering but I was under the impression they both worked off the main hydraulic reservoir. When I first got my Kama one connection to the to the power steering cylinder was loose and leaked. Lost my fluid and she wouldn't turn. I spent time walking back to camp to get hyd fluid and added to the main reservoir for the tractor hydraulics...no luck. Spent about an hour trying to bleed the cylinder! Thought for sure the I had a bad hyd pump for the power steering.

I had my wife ease it back to camp in low gear while I turned the front tires by hand to make the turns....that took another hour. Thought about posting here when she brought me the tractor manual. Found out it has it's own reservior, filled and bled it and it worked immediately!..Ha ha, what a ******! They're separate systems.

Thanks for the info, I couldnt find on any spec sheets where they listed the seperate pumps, Branson just said 8.4 gpm, DK35 said 12.4 gpm, That would leave one thinking the dk blows the other away. So what I see now is pump wise, they are fairly equal. Thanks

Apparently you're not looking on the Kioti website where they are listed separately as I posted earlier.
