Anyone replace the manual tilt for the 3point lift with a hydaulic one? Today mine is so difficult to turn it is almost useless. As Messicks wants $600 for a replacement I thought I'd look for a hydraulic one.

I already have two rear hydraulic remotes for the hay equipment, so that won't be a problem.

Also looking at a hydraulic top link.

suggestions?

Added hydraulic Top-N-Tilt to our TC40D... Now that we have it I wouldn't want to be without it.

Brian @ Fit Rite Hydraulics make awesome stuff & is great to work with... His lead-times maybe longer than you want to wait, but his quality is 2nd to none IMHO.

I cleaned up the original manual adjustable side link & installed it on the left side of the 3pt

If you use it enough to warrant I guess the hydraulic version would be a great add on.

If like me you DON'T use the leveling feature much then freeing up and lubing the existing link makes it more usable. If yours still moves you are ahead of the game. Mine was frozen so it took and hour or so with the torch, penetrating oil, and vise grips to get it moving freely. After that I extended it to the max and coated the threads with anti seize.

When I turn it, it feels like it is has detents in it. All others I've used a smooth. If there is any weight on the it, I have to use two hands and/or put the implement on the ground to remove some of the weight.

$600 for a regular turn-buckle top link? Or is that what they want for the hydraulic top link and the hoses?

I can buy a normal Cat 3 top link for under $100 locally.

Edit.... I re-read that. Never mind! $600 still sounds really steep for a leveler.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean the top link back-and -forth that can be replaced by a hydraulic top link, I got one from TSC for my NH Workmaster 40 for about $250 including hoses. They don't stock them, but ship to store for no charge. If you mean the left/right tilt, then you're probably best off getting a top and tilt and that runs quite a bit more. The thing with the top links is you have to picky and be sure to measure the range you need, because the "throw" distance isn't all that much and they come in many different lengths, so measure carefully the length you use most and decide where you want to go from there, whether you want that be the center or there other implements that you will want longer or shorter than the top link with that measure as center provides.
of course for extremes you can always take the top link off and just use the manual top line, and it's easy to do, but not having that few hundred bucks on the back of the tractor for all your use could be annoying..
