Howdy
I have the L3301. Just got it. Wondering how you guys with them operate your cutting height for your bushhog?
I have the height set on mine but have to release the little height knob when I stop so I can lower the bushhog all the way to get the weight off the tractor.
When resuming cutting, I must reset the little height knob....hoping I get the same height.
Is this how you do it?
My old tractor had a bypass on the lever to let the weight down and get back on the same height setting easily.
This new one was a shock to me to see it does not have this feature as it is so simple
The guy at the tractor place said to not worry about letting it all the way down, but I don't like leaving weight on it.
Thanks, Pete:D

I wouldn't worry about leaving it set at the cutting height. I have my lever stop set at about 4 and that's where I leave it when my mowers attached If it leaks down when it's parked, it returns back to position when I start it.

I guess you could use check chains if you wanted, but I haven't looked on a L3301 to see if there's an attachment for them.

Just make a mark where you had the adjustment knob set. Easy to return it to the right place and carry on.

OK.......that's what I am gonna do. Thanks......woke up this AM to a flat front left tire. Also trans fluid is a bit low...just touching bottom of dipstick....getting on the phone to the salesman tomorrow early !!!!
Think he should take care of this....got the tire off and will take it to them.

I eyeball it. In theory the front of the cutter should be an inch lower than the rear. That way only the front is cutting & the material isn't being cut more than once eating up HP. I often have the front higher though. Avoid scalping, trying to mulch a bit better, etc.

A hydraulic toplink in float is nice for being a bit more flexible on height adjustments.

Definitely let dealer check on the low fluid. Is tractor new? Bummer on the flat tire.

Went to dealer this AM...gave me a gallon of Trans oil...it took 3 qts to fill it.
They sent me to tire place on their dime. We could not find the leak. Dismounted tire and treated the beads and changed the valve stem. Will see what happens now.
They treated me good. I am happy.

I got a flat first week or 2 of owning mine. Mine was a 2" spike of a thorn. There were previous to forest mulching some kind off nasty bushes on the land. Local tire place plugged for free.

I've never used the limit nut I also eyeball it.
