Hydraulic breaker

Yea, I know, it breaks things apart, but

Does anyone know for sure how these things work? I am thinking it is operated by some kind of valve that interrupts the hydraulic fluid, at a certain receptive rate. Has anyone ever seen one of these valves? If so, what does it look like, and any idea where to get them, and the cost. Could it even be a type of shuttle valve, or electrical impulse to a coil on a hydraulic valve. I have heard the term, butterfly valve associated with hydraulics. I sure would like to know.

Come on guys. Surely someone knows the name of the device to cause a hydraulic cylinder to pulsate like in a hydraulic demolition hammer. Whatever is on those tree transplant rigs to push the shovels in the ground.

If you are talking about a breaker for concrete or rock there is quite a bit more to it than just a valve The head or top part of them are full of shuttle valves and different ports for the oil machined in to them also most of the use nitrogen to cycle the hammer and help keep the shock load off the hydralic system. At least that how the Allied that we sell and service are along with some of the other brands that i have repaired over the years

Thanks. Do you know anything about the valve that vibrates the shovels on the tree diggers. Some of the shovel blades just push down, and others I have seen vibrate down. Tree trans planters.

not sure about them but i would think they work about like a shaker for truck beds all that is a excentric on a shaft run by a electric motor the plate tampers we have work the same way only a hydralic motor drives the excentric
