This be my first time measuring and choosin' the correct fitting's for setting up my new 48" front mounted snowblade.....what's the best way or rule of thumb of measuring up hydraulic hose lengths....cause once made up and they are not correct I'm in deep trouble....also I will provvide some new pic's on what I need to do.....I thought about usin' 90 degree swivel fittings....but maybe in my application on this tractor of mine may not be the proper way to go....veiw these bunch of supplied photo's...the 3rd. photo shows the area where I must run the hoses down under the step then up to double lever hydraulic valve..the oil spots on the garage floor are from me oiling the ploughs under belly 'A" frame connection..I'm also on my way to pick up more valve fittin's seems to me after seeing the pic's it may be an advantage to use all 90 degree swivel connectors..so that question can be considered final...it's the mearsuring technic I need help with...I won't be ready till I get the fittings in their proper places..I'm lookin' for some advice to how some of you guys do this.... also remember this is a greymarket (ISEKI) tractor....the ISEKI forum people will only advise me to come here as they done the last time I asked about some hydraulic issues...I was having....Thanks in advance....Ampa <> :)

Using 90's and 45's in the right places always dresses up the job...try not to let any hoses flying out in the breeze to get snagged.....keep them together when possible.....after the elbow's (if any) are in, then use a piece of garden or air hose to simulate routing so it looks good and clearances have been visually identified......then mark the hose with a magic marker to obtain the correct length's....using a tape measure will work but a piece of hose adds that degree of "professional touch" to it.....

If you have to, mark a hose fitting as "A-1" then the other end as "A-2" to keep the hoses organized......if clearances are an issue then move your attachment (with the ports open) left and right, up and down to keep hoses from rubbing or pinching...Hope this helps....:)

Thank you for quick reply to my measuring issue....just got back from where I get all my fittings....I bought 6 more 90 degree fittings...the young fellow also sold me a power beyound adapter ( kind of exspensive )

since I'm usin' this tractors onboard 3 point rear hydraulics and even though I've removed the control lever the main valve is still connected internaly inside the trans case it requires this PB fitting like JJ and others have told me from the begining of this project..of installing my new snowblade...

1/4" 2 wire hose is what the young fellow in the hydraulics section today told me to use....I showed him the bunch of photos I posted on here for which I printed off my newest B/W laser printer....

he then knew right away what I was needing to do...pics sure do help alot to get the correct answers and fittings..

I even managed to grab myself 4 QD dust caps that were on sale can you believe @ a whole cdn Loonie each ..once again I appreciate the help and correct answers I get from this TBN forum.....take care....Ampa <>

Princess Auto don't charge for making up hoses just as long as the hose and fittings are bought originaly from them...I inquired at another place called Fluid Lines...and the told me these do it yourself fittings were bein' discontinued...so

I don't know what to make of all this....seems you guys can still get these fittings but us guys on the Canadian side cannot order them ....was there an accidental problem ? or is this just a prefference from the Canadian Business Acc. law ?.... yes... I like the garden hose idea...are you meaning though that I would have to cut up one of my brand new 25' garden hoses ? :D....thanks kennyd....take care....Ampa <> :)

You don't have to cut up a new hose, just use tape or a marker like WD wrote. Or you could get any piece of 3/8 or 1/2 tubing from the hardware store to use.

Don't have the answer on re-usable's...I just know I like them.

Is it possible for you to bring your setup to your hyd shop and they make the lines and install them? I always do this for people and am happy with the hose sale. As long as it's a simple install, I never charged labor. Also makes for happy customers.

On this mearsurin' issue of mine...I got to thinkin' about the garden hose idea or buyin' some clear plastic tubing from the hardware store and make an easy and factory finished look..but then another idea hit me.. then remembered I had a 7-8' length of 1/4" rubber air hose.....so then why not use this!...then still another idea came to mind......

....why not buy a length of brand new 1/4" hydraulic hose...then use this piece to measure out all my connections...bring this same piece back to the store use this 9' piece to make up all my short lengths :D...just one of my off timin' brainstorm ideas..:D thank guys for makin' this day so much easier....take care Ampa<>
