The hydraulic coupler covers on my 4400 need replaced. That is simple for the hoses from the loader but for the couplers mounted to the tractor, this is a horrendous job for something that should be so simple. I am surprised that JD has not figured out a design in which the coupler cover's tail is just snapped on the hose instead of needing to completely remove all four couplers in order to place the coupler cover's loop on the hose. I hate to sound lazy, but there are lots of other things that I would rather spend the hours doing instead of this nasty job.

Is anyone aware of after market coupler covers that do not require major surgery or a different attack to installing JD OEM covers on the tractor side of the couplers?

Try using a zip-tie to attach the cover. you could also put the covers in a zip-loc bag in the tool box, it is not as handy, but at least they stay clean when you need them.

While checking the transmission oil level on the 4520, I noticed that the dust covers were installed as shown in the attached photo.

So simple and obvious, when you see it! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
