Hydraulic Cylinder for 3 point

Sounds like the 1520 is one of those oddball Cat1-2 models. Makes it more difficult for Top-n-Tilt shoppers. Cat 1 standards are 3/4" top and 7/8" bottom. Cat 2 standards are 1" top and 1-1/8" bottom. See chart . But Deere confused things a bit with a hybrid Cat 1-2 toplink (7/8" hole on one end and a 3/4" hole on the other). So it sounds like your 1520 doesn't actually fit into a standard lift category. Not an insurmountable problem, but it makes it much harder to find anything "off the shelf". You'd likely be best served by a guy like Brian who will fabricate to order.

For the sidelinks though, you don't measure the diameter of the lower swivel ball pin hole. The bottom of a hydraulic sidelink pins through one of the holes in the center of the lower lift arm. The top pins to or through the upper lift arm.

Thanks, it looks like my tractor is a category I. I found it one the internet and checked the holes again. It is a little confusing.
